The New Hope Food Pantry began in 1999 with the dream of Charlie Churchill. The Food Pantry has continued as one of our most important missions and has evolved through different phases of development and continues in its outreach into the greater community. Currently the Food Pantry serves more than 100 families every month, along with over 100 families participating in a monthly Food Truck. The Food Pantry also distributes USDA commodities (Tfap).
Jesus says to share food with those who are hungry, so that’s what we do. Last year alone we gave away over 57,000 lbs of food to hundreds of individuals and families struggling to make ends meet. It’s just one simple way we can help one another out in tough times. Anyone can come. We won’t ask you for any proof of need. All you have to do is show up and you’ll be welcomed with warm smiles and good food.
The pantry takes place at New Hope the 3rd Wednesday of each month (except January and July, when we take a break). Food distribution begins at 6:00 pm. Currently, as a health procedure, we are having individuals stay in their cars and we distribute the food boxes in a drive through style.
