Wycliffe Bible Translators (Jenny Gela (Lemahieu))

Jenny is working as the Scripture Use coordinator for SIL Papua New Guinea. She assists translators with workshops and activities that promote the use and understanding of Scripture as it is translated into the local languages. Her ministry in PNG includes many activities and changes according to the needs of a language community. A few of the areas where she works are: organizing and building Scripture Use teams, conducting Sunday School workshops, Culture Meets Scripture workshops, and song-writing workshops. The variety of ministry allows her to travel to many parts of the country to support Bible Translation and community transformation. Her husband, Josh, works as the Safety and Quality Manager for SIL aviation. He also serves on the SIL branch executive committee. Other ministries for Josh include playing lead guitar in the Tok Pisin worship band and Jenny serves the community through cooking and baking. Please consider how you might partner with Jenny in her Wycliffe ministry financially or in prayer. (Wycliffe website: https://www.wycliffe.org/partner/jennygela

Love INC

Our Mission is to Mobilize Local Christian Churches Transform Lives and Communities in the Name of Christ. The partnership between Love INC and Oceana County churches is making it possible for many families to receive help for a wide variety of physical needs, including food, clothing, furniture, appliances, household and personal care items. But, more importantly they are being offered the gift of TIME.  They are offered a listening ear and receive encouragement and assistance.  They are having their needs prayed over and they are seeing how they can move through their current situation and into the fullness of life God intends for them.  Offering time allows for relationships to be developed and it is in relationships that the Love of Christ can flourish!

Young Life

Young Life is a Christian ministry that reaches out to middle school, high school, and college students in all 50 of the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world. We go to kids, build bridges of authentic friendship, and introduce them to Jesus Christ. Young Life began in the early 1940s in response to an emerging adolescent subculture. Young Life is in the world of high school — learning kids’ names, hearing their stories, having fun and sharing with them the great news of a God who loves them.

Assists men who are struggling with substance abuse.”  Wesley Vanderwilk of the Elevate Oceana project. Elevate Oceana is modeled around the Building Men for Life program based in Holland, Michigan. “When you get out of jail, you have no money, no car and no job. Which one do you get first? You can’t get the money without a job; and you can’t get the job without a car; and you can’t get the car without money.” The program will help them find jobs and provide rides to work as they begin rebuilding their lives.

Elevate Oceana is directed by a board of local businesspeople and community members and is in the process of becoming a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization.
